JBA Coffee and Cars on the Mesa - #185 January 11th 2026

COFFEE & CARS ON THE MESA JANUARY 2026 Another early morning Coffee & Cars on a very dry, crisp and cool Southern California Sunday. The local car community flocked to JBA Speed Shop for Hot Coffee, Warm Donuts and even hotter cars showing what they’re made of. The morning socializing and coffee consumption centered around a new speedy visitor to JBA Speed Shop, a period correct 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe that was built to very accurately represent the original Daytona Coupe CSX2299. Serial number USR2001 frame & body came from Upstate Super Replicars (USR). Completed using Contemporary Classics molds, 289 c.i. engine stroked to 331 c.i. with Gurney-Westlake heads equipped with 8-stack fuel injection and backed by a 6-speed transmission. The white Daytona gleamed in the morning light against a backdrop of San Diego’s best hot rods, muscle cars and customs.
The shop welcomed all the visitors with an array of magnificent automotive talent from early Mustangs and early Corvettes, Buick, Chrysler, Oldsmobile, Mopar and Mercury muscle also made the lineup. Showing once again the JBA Speed Shop is the one-stop-shop for everyone’s classic car, trucks and modern muscle alike.
After the donuts are all gone and the coffee takes affect people start to disperse intent on their Sunday activities.
But, first there are burnouts! Some leave their mark and proceed to their next activity others take advantage of the burnout box to practice, practice and practice their burnout skills. The lingering smell of spent high-octane fuel and burnt rubber accenting the last cup of coffee for the morning, makes for a great start to any day at JBA Speed Shop.
