JBA Coffee and Cars on the Mesa - #183 November 9th 2025

JBA Speed Shop's 40th Anniversary Celebration!

40 Years Strong

Our amazing day... November 9, 2025, thank you to the hundreds of friends and supporters that attended our 40th Birthday Bash and chose to bring hundreds of mean machines, their kids, their friends and family.

November 9th was one of our largest events ever at our Kearny Villa campus, ranking with our decades prior JBA Dagget Street, Aero Drive, Convoy St. and Mission Gorge Rd. epic Rock'N Roll Speed Shop Show events.  The Coffee and Cars opening rolls into our celebration Rock'n Roll Show with the Beer Garden and JBA Brew tasting with the Goodie Bags for those that brought cars along with the event mug sales and t-shirt sales and hundreds of Bittle Brats and Dawgs and even Birthday Cakes!  Of course, the Burnouts made the entire day incredible!  Thank you to the JBA friends, all the helpers, including friends in our SD Mustang Club who volunteered to help serve and park cars and all our JBA staff that attended, worked and helped us carry the day on their 7th workday of that week!  God Bless JBA for the next 40 years!

1985 to 2025 is forty years of high-performance car building in San Diego as J. Bittle American opened and grew into today’s Just Bad Ass Speed Shop!

J.’s speed shop originated in 1979 in Aggieland as J.’s Total Performance Texaco gas station/speed shop in Bryan/College Station, Texas. His dual bay full-service speedy Texaco was rocked unfortunately by the 1883 oil drop and Jay decided to relocate back to SoCal & San Diego!

After returning home to SoCal, Jay lead sales at Drew Ford in ’83-’84 and then opened JBA Speed in 1985!  Today, Austin and Dad keep building and maintaining the future of the Internal Combustion Engines for San Diego.

With 40 Years of excellence, our shop has become a trusted destination for car enthusiasts. We're passionate about automotive performance and one dedicated to providing expert advice and top-notch services. Our team is committed to continuing this tradition of excellence.
