JBA Speed Shop at the California Hot Rod Reunion
The 30th Annual California Hot Rod Reunion took place in October, 2022 at Famoso Raceway near Bakersfield, California and JBA Speed Shop was there in the form of J Bittle's C/Gas '66 Shelby.
The HRR is produced by the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and the Automobile Club of Southern California. Unique among motorsports events, the HRR honors some of the top names in hot rodding from the past and feature an extensive array of cool drag cars, street rods and customs of the historic and present-day hot rod eras.
Proceeds from the HRR benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. Founded in 1998 and named for the founder of the National Hot Rod Association, the museum houses the very roots of hot rodding.
As far J's Shelby, it's powered by a 393 Cleveland and was running good on a 9.60 dail-in. In the first round of eliminations, J ran a 9.74 at 131 mph, before going out in the second round. All in all it was a good weekend of fun for all, including the Bigfoot guy riding around in the golf cart. --Miles Cook
