One of JBA’s favorite events each year is the Coronado Speed Festival, aka “The Race at the Base”. It’s part of the Fleet Week celebration which honors the service and dedication of members of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S, Coast Guard. Held on the runways of Naval Air Station North Island, the race features nine groups with over 250 vintage racecars. The weekend event includes two car shows, the well-attended Car Club Corral, Vendor Village and extensive Navy displays. This 17th edition also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, and featured a trick motorcycle riding demonstration and a race showcasing Robby Gordon’s Super Trucks. In addition to providing a local venue to race Jay and Vickie’s #29 1968 Trans Am Mustang, the Coronado Speed Festival provides an opportunity for JBA to say thank you to our military and provide hospitality to our customers, friends and co-workers.
