The Coronado Speed Festival is a thing of beauty…every year! Don’t know who originally came up with the idea of celebrating Fleet Week with a car show and historic motorsports racing at Naval Air Station North Island, but it was a brilliant concept. Sailboats on the blue water, Point Loma in the distance, vintage race cars tearing up the tarmac…you get the picture. This gallery captures a small slice of the 2013 edition while focusing on the exploits of Team JBA and their 1968 Historic Trans Am Mustang driven by J. Bittle. After busting a transmission input shaft in practice, during the race on Sunday the car charged from a 12th place starting position to finish 2nd in Group 6 (see race results below). Thanks to all of our customers that support JBA’s efforts, thanks to the organizers of this fine event, and thanks to our military that make it all possible. Check out the pictures for a quick run through a day in the life of ol’ #29.
