It was a full house for Ty this morning at JBA Speed Shop as the car community came out to pay tribute to fallen ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods. Hundreds of cars overflowed the JBA parking areas and filled neighboring facilities. Senior Chief Petty Officer Tyrone Snowden Woods, Sr., a United States Navy SEAL (ret.) was 41. He died September 12, 2012 defending the U. S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, and was buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma. “Ty Woods was a friend, crew member and long-time customer of JBA Speed Shop,” J Bittle, owner, said. “It is fitting that we pay tribute to this fallen hero and accept donations to benefit Ty’s legacy—his 4-month old baby boy Kai.” A number of Ty’s close friends and co-workers attended the event and spoke to the large crowd. If you would like to donate to the Ty Woods Memorial Fund, please go to http://www.stayclassy.org/tywoods. It can be anonymous or you can include a note to his family. It will also provide a receipt for your tax-free donation. One hundred percent of the money will go to Ty’s family. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this a great event.
