The Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) kicked off their 2012 land speed racing season with the traditional two-day meet at El Mirage Dry Lake on May 19th and 20th. The weather was fine, despite a headwind on Saturday. You know, at El Mirage, it’s never hot, windy or dusty! The SanDiego Roadster Club (SDRC) turned out with fast cars and bikes and bumped quite a few records. Two of our members joined the uber-exclusive Dirty 2 Club by breaking records over 200 mph on the dirt. SDRC is going for the SCTA club points championship for the 7th year in a row. All in all, a very good lakes meet. See the pictures for more of the story.
